Problems with Fake Profile Around LinkedIn 👇

Problems with Fake Profile Around LinkedIn 👇

One of my friends receives direct messages typically a few times per week.

That's not a bad thing - except they're always from Fake Profiles.

A couple of weeks ago, she got a message that read, "Hi XX - I'm YY from ZZ bank expecting your help!"

Can we connect via email and I have something to discuss with you?

The profile had no photo and limited job information.

It shows a very senior position at the bank. However, this profile only has a few connections only.

This kind of "Fake profile" typically scammers, because you cannot search for their name.

If they are really senior bank executives, why no such name from a simple Google search??

This is becoming more common for LinkedIn. Not only asking for emails...

Some of the more bold ones will ask or demand to set up time, or transfer money to you!

People said LinkedIn is good to network and to keep up on industry news.

But the amount of spam they receive leaves them frustrated.

Linked becomes a time-waster rather than a productive tool or platform for careers.

Fake accounts are a violation of LinkedIn Terms of services.

But... It's still unclear how many fake profiles exist on the site.

What do you think? What is your experience?
