One year ago, I rejected a connection request from a guy named Raymond, even though he left me a thoughtful message. A few weeks earlier, I met him in a meeting. He became my client and friend. He said "Hey, you never responded to me on LinkedIn. Why?!"

That one tiny rejection was something he didn't forget.

Thankfully, Raymond didn't get upset.
