Of all the images I've seen in my life, this one has always been a fascinating one I go back to regularly. 👇

Barack Obama, the most powerful man in the world at the time, enjoying a roadside meal that cost $6 in Vietnam with the wonderful chef, author, and storyteller Anthony Bourdain.

It's a constant reminder that none of us are ever too important to enjoy the little things, and equally that food and travel really help us appreciate the world outside our bubble.

To quote Obama from when Bourdain sadly passed,

"Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer, that’s how I’ll remember Tony. He taught us about food - but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together. To make us a little less afraid of the unknown. We’ll miss him.”

However, due to COVID-19, there are so many restrictions!

Mark Twain was right when he said travel is fatal to prejudice. May we all strive to see as much of the world as we can, so we realize we're all the same.

I miss Tony Bourdain, just as I miss Barack Obama holding the position he once did so well.
